The Story of a Low Rank Soldier – Chapter 57
The Battle of the Bulge
It was the dead of winter, and the Allied forces were caught off guard. The German army had launched a massive offensive through the Ardennes forest in Belgium, driving deep into Allied territory. This came to be known as the Battle of the Bulge.
The fighting was fierce. The weather was brutally cold. And the outcome was far from certain.
But the Allied forces fought back, and eventually regained the ground they had lost. The Battle of the Bulge was a turning point in the war, and a victory that would not have been possible without the bravery and sacrifice of the low rank soldiers who fought there.
